Pricing and Policies

Pricing

Private tutoring in person or online is $25 for a 40 minute session. Learning "Pads", or small group classes are offered at a discount of $18 per student.  There must be at least two people in the pad to get the discounted price and they must be close in ability and age.

There is no contract for families to commit to, however, please understand you own your spot. Payment is expected if you come or not (see below for cancellation policy). Payment is expected before the start of the lesson.  Without pre-payment, the lesson will be cancelled and you will be charged anyway. Families may arrange to pay weekly rather than per lesson if they so wish. In this case, account balances may not be carried forward to the next week unless prior arrangements have been made. If this happens more than once, a $10 late fee will be assessed.  Accounts consistently past due run the risk of being dropped from my services.

Pricing can change at any time. However, in general, existing clients can most likely expect to retain the price from the the time at which they joined the program. Small increments may be added to account for the rising cost of supplies.

Again, there is no contract. Families can leave at any time. Further, if I feel we are not a good match I will be honest and let parents know they should seek other resources. Please see the cancellation-absences policy below.

Cancellations

Illness is the only excused class. Classes cancelled less than less 8 hours before the scheduled time will still be charged unless I can reschedule your child during that same week. Rescheduled classes are not guaranteed and are based on availability. All due respect, this is my livelihood. My time is valuable and highly in demand.  If I excuse everyone that makes special plans during their tutoring time, I could not survive as a business. As previously mentiined, you own your spot. I commit to being here and so payment is expected regardless of outside plans.

Students are allowed three unpaid emergency cancellations in a calendar year. Emergencies consist of illness or a death in the family. After that, payment is still expected for missed lessons. Exceptions can be made for serious or lengthy illness with a doctor’s note - just reach out to me.

Because of the nature of group classes, there are no refunds for classes that are part of a learning pad or group class.

Exceptions may be made for some illness at my discretion. Please do NOT come to in-person class if you are contagious. If I get sick, it affects ALL the other families that depend on me. Mom to mom, parent to parent, I understand that kids sometimes just get sick unexpectedly.  I understand that life happens too. Please just reach out to me and we can chat. I will try to work with your family as best I can. Know that zoom classes, while not as optimal, are a good solution and better than missig altogether for that week. Again, abuse of this policy may result in termination of your time slot.
